Every IPOD has its own MAC address build into it. However IP addresses are given out by your ISP. While each is unique, the ISP may "renew" IPs so that they move from customer to customer. So an IP is not always a reliable way to track a computer.

If you have a router, that router will have an IP address from your ISP. All the computers (whether wired or wireless) will show on the Internet as that same IP address. So to the "outside" world your IPOD would look to be one device (actually your router). However within your local network, each computer will have a unique local IP address. So "within" your local network you can tell the two devices apart. (That is how your router keeps track of them.)

If someone were to do a trace over the Internet, both IPOD’s would appear to be the same device.

Each iPod has a unique MAC address.

The IP address would depend on which network you’re connected to. For example, if you and your brother both had iPods and you both were using the same Internet connection (eg. via a router) then both of your iPods would have the same external IP address (different internal IP addresses, of course). They would have different MAC addresses though.

However, if you were in, say, your school or office and your brother were at home, your iPod would have the external IP address of the school or office network and your brother’s iPod would have the external IP address of your home connection.

The trace would be to your router’s IP, they wouldn’t be able to differentiate between the Ipods and a computer just based off of the IP address. The MAC shouldn’t be seen outside of your network.

No two devices have the same MAC address. No two devices have the same IP address if they’re on the same network. Sorry, but you can’t blame your brother for sending those dirty pictures.

The advantages for working for others? I don’t see any, honestly I hate the idea of having to work for someone else while there getting rich. I suppose that’s life though. I see tons more disadvantages than advantages. Work your own hours, decide how far to take it, have time to do other things instead of freaking out how much to save and use.
